July is breakup szn for some celebrities and their partners.
This July started out with Keke Palmer’s split up with her boyfriend Darius Jackson. He caused outrage a few weeks ago, on the internet, because he shamed her over a dress on Twitter.
To add fuel to the fire, he later tweeted that “We’re in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want her wife to showcase her booty cheeks to please others”.
Women are tired of repeating that we don’t dress to impress men, we dress up for ourselves. A man with this type of mindset doesn’t feel secure about himself, nor will he ever feel secure with his partner.
Another split up that made a splash on the internet is between the actress of Mermaid live-action, Halle Bailey, and her ex-boyfriend DDG. DDG expressed in his rap song “Famous” that he’s insecure about Halle’s movie partners and even questions if she likes them.
Lastly, the upcoming divorce between Ariana Grande and her husband. According to TMZ, Ariana’s Husband wasn’t able to adjust to her celebrity life. The difference between the two eventually caused the separation.
It’s funny how many people would want to date someone successful without considering that they also need to deal with their work as well. Jealousy, insecurities, and dealing with differences are all normal in relationships, but making your partner the villain because of it doesn’t sound good.
However, not all male partners are like that.
Rhianna’s boyfriend, A$ap Rocky, physically stepped away from Rhianna to give her the spotlight for the picture taking. A lot of netizens praised him for this behavior. Another one is from the star of Guardians of the Galaxy, Zoe Saldana’s husband who took her last name. Despite Zoe’s worries, her husband does not care what others would say.
These may be the bare minimum, but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate how they let their queens do their thing.
